The Royal College of Music is a Grade II* listed building in Kensington, and we are proud to have been involved in the restoration of the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall.
The project involved the transformation of the Concert Hall and surrounding areas to bring the facility up to modern standards. The acoustics, lighting and air-conditioning were upgraded to a level that would ensure that the hall would be a cutting-edge performance space.
The existing roof trusses, originally constructed in 1908, were surveyed and analysed to ensure they could support a new acoustic coffered ceiling, lighting bars and services within the roof space, with the loads transferred to the existing structure below.
