Royal Hospital Chelsea

This project involved the extensive and high-level refurbishment of this Grade I listed Sir Christopher Wren building in the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea.

The works required structural openings to be formed in one of the original courtyard buildings, and modifications of the original paneling to meet the revised layout of the Pensioners’ Club. The refurbishment focused on the bar, restaurant and recreational facilities of the Chelsea Pensioners’ pub in the north-west wing, the social heart of the hospital.

The aim was to improve the functionality and appeal of the building for present and future pensioners whilst preserving the architectural heritage.
