Our team provided civil and structural engineering services for the extension of Radcliffe School in Milton Keynes.
The single-storey extension delivered a new reception area and double-height sixth form multifunctional educational space, enhancing the school’s facilities for students and staff. The double-height teaching space features a pitched roof supported by exposed steel trusses, creating an open and flexible learning environment.

The new extension was connected to an existing prefabricated steel-framed building constructed circa 2021, requiring careful coordination and structural alterations to the existing frame.
A key challenge was accommodating the building footprint around several existing underground services that needed to remain operational throughout the works. Through close collaboration with the wider design team and contractor, practical solutions were developed to integrate the new structure while maintaining existing infrastructure.
The project team included TGA Building Consultancy (Project Managers), LTS Architects, LAM Associates (MEP), and Gray & Sons (Contractor).
