Altro Flooring is a family-owned business specialising in safety flooring and hygienic wall cladding. Our brief was to produce fabrications drawings and connection design for over 500 tonnes of new structural steelwork for the main factory refurbishment at their head office in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire.
Primary structural works included constructing new high-level roof over the main production area. Portal frames spanning nearly 30m were utilised to create larger column free areas for the workshop below. In addition, we designed and detailed the following ancillary structure:

This was a challenging project as all works had to carried out whilst the factory remained fully operational and whilst maintaining a safe, working environment below.
