Peter Dann has undertaken a broad-ranging commission in assisting with the development of this Anaerobic Digestion Plant for Amur Ltd, in South Milford, North Yorkshire.
This facility will treat biodegradable green waste that would otherwise be processed for composting, to produce biogas that can be used as recovered energy and a liquid digestate. The organic waste will be used in a strategically important manner to place non-imported fossil methane gas into the local gas network. The project also incorporates a combined heat power plant which will use the biogas to produce electricity for the operation of the facility or in the event that there is residual biogas, to feed into the national grid. The residual organic stream is converted to a Soil Association-approved organic fertiliser meeting the stringent requirements of PAS110 as developed by the Renewable Energy Association.
Peter Dann acted as Planning Agent to secure planning permission for the development. Once consent was secured our remit was that of civil and structural engineer designing piled tank bases, the containment bund, ancillary buildings and service support structures, drainage and external works. We also acted as Project Managers and Cost Consultants for the civil engineering contract.
