Peter Dann provided structural engineering services for the refurbishment of vacant space at Churchill Court to create the Bromley Health & Wellbeing Centre. The project involved transforming the first floor into a modern clinical facility, requiring careful structural coordination to support new healthcare uses within the constraints of the existing building.

Our works focused on structural alterations to facilitate the CAT B fit-out, including infilling the existing atrium at second floor level to maximise clinical space and reconfiguring internal layouts through selective removal of partitions and redundant elements. We assessed and verified load capacities to accommodate new consultation and treatment rooms and upgraded building services, ensuring compliance with current standards. Technical challenges included design verification of existing composite steel beams with multiple web openings, historic RC beams with service penetrations, and façade retention edge details at first floor level.
Working within a live town-centre environment, our team delivered pragmatic, buildable solutions that integrated with landlord works and existing structural systems. Through close collaboration with the design and construction team, Peter Dann ensured all structural interventions supported the operational, safety and performance requirements of a contemporary healthcare facility.
