Our Technical Director Mike Rogers attended the launch of The Imperial Hotel’s refurbishment and spectacular new roof-top bar, now named ‘Arcus’. The Times has named it ‘London’s coolest new rooftop bar.’
Arcus is housed in a steel-framed rooftop extension creating a tenth-floor destination above the existing hotel. Our work also included structural elements of the wider refurbishment, including the new plantroom structure, mezzanine, stairs and lifts.
The project brings together structural engineering and architecture in a particularly striking way: the new butterfly roof complements the geometric language of the existing Brutalist building.
It was fantastic to celebrate alongside architects at 5plus and the wider project team.
