The team at Peter Dann are very pleased to see this feature on 123-151 Buckingham Palace Road in Architects’ Journal.
The article describes how the scheme retained ‘100 per cent of the existing 49,000m2 buildings while adding nearly 9,300m2 of office space’ directly over Victoria station. The existing buildings were designed by Peter Foggo in the early 80s.
J-J Lorraine, Director of Morrow + Lorraine Architects, says ‘surgical precision was required to stitch this building into its urban context both at street and rooftop levels.’
As structural engineers on this project, we can agree on the challenging nature of this unique and ambitious scheme which included the HUB Victoria within its vertical extension.
