Peter Dann’s latest vertical extension project has recently been completed at 100 Brewery Road in Islington. The previously existing three-storey industrial building, constructed in 1957, has been extended to the rear and the side as well as adding a new storey to the full footprint to provide new office space.
As is typical for projects of this nature, challenges needed to be overcome relating to increased vertical and lateral loads, and the justification of the robustness of the structure, but extensive record information allowed a full analysis of the original frame to be undertaken and strengthening work to be minimised.
The building now provides a high-quality space to suit a range of potential occupiers, with space included for light industrial use as well as offices
