We are delighted to learn that Oakfield Gardens Crematorium is in the running to win Project of the Year (£10-£25 million) at the NBCA Awards, 2024.
Peter Dann were a part of the multidisciplinary team delivering this pioneering project alongside DT Architects and contractors SMD Ltd (who have been shortlisted) for client Central Bedfordshire County Council.
Sustainability was a driving force, with minimal impact on the environment. Hunter Douglas provided bespoke wood finishes using FSC-certified oak and accoya, creating an organic and serene environment inside and out. The crematorium relates to its softly landscaped gardens of remembrance, with a running water feature at one end of the service hall.
