We recently attended the completion celebration for the Wood Wharf B2 development at Canary Wharf — the first modular building delivered within the estate. The building is now operating as Locke London Canary Wharf, offering design-led serviced apartments in the heart of Wood Wharf and with a roof-top bar and restaurant opening soon.
It’s a pleasure to see how impressive the finished building is, with its art deco styling through cladding, distinctive entrance and atmospheric lighting.
Peter Dann acted as designers for the traditionally constructed elements including the concrete podium and cores and the steel framed structure at the top level of the building where the restaurant is located. The scheme received industry recognition at the Offsite Awards 2019, highlighting the project’s pioneering approach to modular construction.
Thanks to all involved, we can celebrate a standout addition to the Wood Wharf skyline and fantastic example of modern engineering and design.
