Case Study: The Heal’s Building Refurbishment

Heals Loading Bay CafePeter Dann undertook the sensitive refurbishment of this iconic Grade II listed building on Tottenham Court Road.

The project comprised the strip-out and Category A fit-out works to the basement, part of the ground floor and Levels 1 and 2 of the existing Heals Building. The relocation of Heal’s to the Ground and Basement floors created new workspace for offices. A new entrance to the retail section on the ground floor was added, and we also upgraded the Alfred Mews Façade, an external inner courtyard (within the development site) and an external terrace on Level 2.

The original features of the building, including parquet flooring, exposed ceilings, wooden beams and trusses – dating back to 1916 – have been retained and restored to Grade A specification.
