Job Description:

We are recruiting for the role of Senior Structural Engineer. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ design experience post-graduation and be chartered. The right candidate should feel comfortable working with a team of engineers and technicians to deliver projects from initial planning and feasibility through to detailed design and construction phases. The candidate will be experienced in all principal sectors, particularly commercial, education and industrial, having familiarity with all key forms of construction.

Key Skills:

Ability to design structures in all traditional materials (timber, steel, concrete & masonry).
Ability to work on projects of various sizes from new-build houses to multi-storey frames.
Experienced in a range of different projects across all key sectors.
Excellent communication skills being comfortable with a client-facing role, attending meetings and presentations to represent the business.
Excellent coordination skills to work with architects and other principal consultants to deliver design solutions and construction information which adequately consider buildability, budget and programme.
Mentoring of junior engineers and technicians.
Able to work with a significant degree of autonomy from associates and directors with a requirement to regularly report back progress.
Use of TEDDS, STAAD and Tekla Structural Designer. Competence with other industry standard software would be advantageous.
Knowledge of AutoCAD Revit and Bluebeam. Experience with BIM Level 2 would be advantageous.
