Kettering General Hospital Energy Centre

Kettering general hospital sustainable power centreWe’re proud to be providing civil and structural engineering services for Kettering General Hospital’s £57 million Energy Centre development and associated infrastructure works.

This transformative live project is a key milestone in the hospital’s long-term estate strategy, replacing ageing energy systems with a modern, resilient, and sustainable network. Designed to support both current operations and future growth, the scheme will play a vital role in enhancing the hospital’s infrastructure for years to come.

The new Energy Centre will feature innovative technologies, including air source heat pumps, backup power generation, and upgraded electrical systems. A low-temperature heating network will also be introduced, delivering efficient energy across the hospital campus. By moving away from legacy steam-based systems, the project will significantly boost performance while reducing environmental impact.

Once complete, the development is set to achieve an impressive 55% reduction in carbon emissions—an important step forward in supporting the Trust’s journey to Net Zero. It will also provide the essential infrastructure needed to enable future development across the site.

With works progressing well and on programme, the new Energy Centre is scheduled for completion in 2027. We’re excited to be part of a project that is helping to create a more sustainable, future-ready healthcare environment.
